10. Integrated Troubleshooting Approach
When a treatment plant underperforms, changing chemicals alone may not solve the problem. We use a structured approach that connects water quality, process conditions, equipment condition and chemical dosing.
- 1. Identify the symptomDefine the actual deviation: high conductivity, hardness leakage, high COD/TSS, scale, corrosion, odour, pressure drop, poor settling, etc.
- 2. Test the waterCompare current water chemistry with design/normal operating data.
- 3. Check the processReview flow, loading, pressure, temperature, recovery, aeration, blowdown and regeneration cycles as applicable.
- 4. Inspect equipmentCheck pumps, dosing systems, valves, filters, membranes, resin vessels, heat-transfer surfaces and instrumentation.
- 5. Optimize the treatmentSelect compatible chemicals and dosing based on the actual problem and process constraints.
- 6. Verify performanceTrend key parameters and confirm that the intervention produces a stable improvement.
Typical service outcomes to target
- More consistent treated-water quality.
- Control of scale, corrosion and microbiological fouling.
